Uttara Phalguni
The Twelfth Lunar Mansion, Uttara Phalguni, resides in the Constellation of Leo, also extending into the Constellation of Virgo. It's primary motivation is spiritual liberation (Moksha) with an emphasis on healing others.
This lunar mansion is ruled by the Sun, with the influence of Mercury in the last three padas which are located in Virgo. The Pada located in Leo brings opportunity for creative expansion and growth, assisting in overcoming creative blocks and expression. The final three padas located in Virgo are more mystical in nature and may bestow yogic powers.
Aryaman is the deity of Uttara Phalguni. Aryaman governs marriage contracts and protects family inheritance. Family unity is emphasized as is leadership, honor and nobility. Its power is the giving of prosperity (Chayani shakti) through marriage or union.
Called "the star of patronage", it bestows a kind and generous nature and disposition, with compassion for humanity. Money can be earned both through a formal education or through experiential learning. Courage, endurance and standing up for righteous causes are some of Uttara Phalguni's strengths.
When expressed through Shadow, issues of co-dependence or over-giving may be observed. Resentment and lack of gratitude towards partners may result.
A deep sense of loneliness can result when not in a meaningful partnership, but learning to embrace solitude and time alone without feeling lonely is an important lesson that may be experienced here.
